The labor force participation rate has declined to three decades plus lows.

Welcome to VoteFacts.  According to Rick Santelli of CNBC, "

"...the labor force participation rate has declined to three decades plus lows."

Is the the labor market really in it's worst shape since September of 1981?  Let's consult our friends at the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Their data shows that the last time we saw a labor force participation rate as low as 63.5 was back in September of 1981.

So call 'em like you see 'em. Is the claim that this is the weakest labor market in 30 years FACT or FICTION?

BLS Data - You will have to change the start date by changing 2002 to 1981. VoteFacts original post date:  September 13, 2012
